Is grass fed beef better for you? What are the benefits in eating grass fed beef? These are some questions that people ask all the time. Well, it is absolutely better for you. There are many benefits. There are four reasons which grass fed is better than feedlot cattle beef. The first is that the beef contains lower fat and calorie content.

The meat is very lean so it could have one third less fat than the same type of cut of feedlot meat. There is 9 calories in one gram of fat. A 6oz cut of feedlot beef could have 100 more calories than a 6oz cut of grass fed beef. So if you do the math, there are about 11 more grams of fat in a 6oz piece of meat with feedlot cattle. An average person eats about 66.5 pounds of beef a year. Changing your diet to grass fed beef could save you 17,733 calories a year without have to struggle with your eating habits.

The second reason is more Omega-3’s. There is two to four more times as much Omega-3’s in grass fed beef than feedlot beef. Omega-3 is known, as a good fat that is very important for your body. Omega-3 is high in seafood, nuts, seeds, and in grass fed beef. People who have a lot of Omega-3 in their diet can lower their risk in suffering from high blood pressure, heart attacks, depression, Alzheimer’s and reducing your risk of cancer.         

The third reason is CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). CLA is another known “good fat” which is rich in grass fed meats. Three to five times as much CLA is in grass fed beef than those in feedlot beef. CLA is good because it is the strongest protector against cancer. Research has shown that it can reduce the growth of tumors and help to reduce the risk of cancers.

Last, but not least, Vitamin E. Grass fed beef has four times as much Vitamin E than the conventional feedlot beef. Also, feedlot animals that have been given Vitamin E supplements are twice as low in Vitamin E than the grass fed beef. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. Also, it has anti-aging properties.

To recap, grass fed beef has extra helpful nutrients to help reduce much common disease such as heart attacks and cancer. It is simpler to eat grass fed beef than the meat from the market because it is the same eating habit, but is extremely better for you. It doesn’t hurt that the grass fed is also tender and juicy than those meats sold at the market. It is tastier and just plan out better for your health. It’s a no brainer to invest in eating grass fed beef.
